Creativity forum 2014 in Narva Creativity forum 2014 in Narva

The success of the last three years has emboldened us to once again organise a creativity forum of the Nordic countries and Baltic States in late summer. The fourth forum is entitled 'Creativity creates security' and invitations are open to school teachers and directors, leaders of interest groups and other education workers from Nordics and Baltics who want to boost youngsters' enjoyment of school, studying and the process of creating by unleashing their creative sides, foster in them a sense of security and make use of their own creativity in their work and everyday activities.

Interest in taking part in the forum has been great each year. We had barely announced that registration was open last year before all of the places were snapped up! For this year's forum, which is being held in Illuka in Ida-Viru County, a few places remain – so act fast.

The forum is being held in a beautiful natural setting and participants will have the chance to listen to inspiring speakers from Estonia and abroad. There will also be creativity studios at which you can put what you have just heard into practice. We will be showcasing 'Biofiilia', the multifaceted Nordic education programme instigated by the Icelandic government; discussing education reform in Finland and Estonia; asking what visual thinking and teaching are and how they can be used; and much more.

The programme also includes a range of exciting free-time activities at Alutaguse Sports and Recreation Centre, which will be providing our accommodation.

The fee for participating in the creativity forum is 70 euros. This covers the talks, creativity studios, interpreting, recreational activities, catering and accommodation (in rooms for 2-4 people). Registration is open until 17 August (or while places remain) and payment must be made by 21 August (foreign participants are kindly asked to contact Eha Vain).

You can read more about the theme and objective of this year's forum and also take a look at the programme on our website.
