Nordic Writers Crossing Borders 2017
Faroese writer Rakel Helmsdal visiting Estonia in 2017
In 2017 we saw four Nordic writers visit Estonia. In both May and November youth at Toila library, Illuka School, Pärnu Kuninga-street school, Sütevaka gymnasium and Viljandi central lirary had the opportunity to take part of workshops about how to make and illustrate a book. The workshop was led by Finnish authors and illustrators Linda Bondestam and Jenny Lucander. In addition to illustrating workshops Estonian readers had the chance to meet Rakel Helmsdal – a Faroese writer and teacher of creative writing, artist and marionette actress, and Finnish-Swedish writer Maria Turtschaninoff.
