VII Nordic Poetry Festival
VII Nordic Poetry Festival took place in Tallinn and in Rakvere, 4-5 May. The festival hosted 16 poets from eight countries who performed at seven venues. The Nordic Poetry Festival is Estonia’s as well as the Nordic countries’ most long-lived poetry festival in terms of renowned authors, geographical scope and strive for combining poetry with other forms of art. |
This year poetry is combined with animation: seven Estonian animators interpret the poems of seven Estonian poets. Musicians at the festival are: Helin-Mari Arder&Teet Raik Villu Veski iLife Braz Luiz Lima Anneli Kadakas Hele-Riin Uib Marvi Vallaste Group/groove Ansambel Noorkuu Festival poets are: Finland – Heli Laaksonen, Bo Carpelan (distantsilt) Denmark – Morten Søndergaard Iceland – Ingibjörg Haraldsdóttir Faroe Islands – Carl Jóhan Jensen Latvia – Anna Auzina Lithuenia- Rolandas Rastauskas Hungary – Erzsébet Tóth Estonia – Karl Martin Sinijärv; Liisi Ojamaa; Mathura; Jan Kaus; Maarja Kangro; Leelo Tungal; Igor Kotjuh; Aare Pilv; Indrek Koff Festival has free admission All in all nearly 100 poets around the Baltic Sea have participated at Nordic Poetry Festivals during 6 years. |
