The last four Creativity Forums organised by the Nordic Council of Ministers’ Office in Estonia have seen the participation of more than 400 teachers and heads of schools interested in recognising creativity and supporting its development. Many of those who have attended the forums have been inspired to organise creativity-themed seminars and gatherings themselves in their own schools and counties.

The main organiser of the fifth Creativity Forum is Pärnu County Government. The emphasis in the title of this year’s forum is on the word ‘combine’. There is unity and cohesion between different levels of schooling, different subjects and different target groups. Creativity supports the acquisition of new knowledge and the use of existing knowledge and brings out skills in both teachers and students that they don’t even know they have. Quite a few problems that seem insurmountable may be solved, because what you take away from the Creativity Forum can give you new ways of dealing with a situation. Participants are sure to gain new knowledge, new skills and new, like-minded acquaintances as part of the presentations, studios and discussion groups they take part in at the forum.

Themes in 2016:

  • The creativity of Estonian students and teachers
  • The role of communication in creating cohesion and responsibility
  • The ‘doll-thinking method’ in teaching drama
  • Combining theatre & chemistry and astronomy & art
  • From theory to practice: Introducing the biophilia method in Finnish schools in 2016
  • Social constructionism in schools in Denmark and Norway
  • Creativity in schools on the Faroe Islands

The ideas and experiences you gain and the exercises you learn at the forum can then be used in your everyday work, communication and cooperation.
