Ocean holds a central position in the lives of Norwegians. Historically, Norwegians have been seafarers and fishermen for thousands of years. Economic success Norway has today is also based on ocean – shipping, fish farming and high seas oil industry. Norwegians are also dedicated to the protection of sea environment. Norwegian culture is tightly woven with life on the sea and the coast.
Photo exhibition „Norway. Stories of the coastal folk“ is a glance to the life of this nation living on the coast. Presented are the photos from a photo competition organised by NGO Norra sõbrad, Loodusretked OÜ and the Embassy of Norway in Estonia.
