Nordic-Baltic Expert Seminar on Human Trafficking with a Focus on Legal Proceedings Finished

The seminar * will focus on human trafficking problems associated with preliminary investigations, bringing charges and how these problems have been resolved and brought to trial thus far in the Nordic countries and Baltic States. The aim is to present and discuss specific problems relating to actual cases and to exchange best practice in the region to combat human trafficking on the labour market (construction, cleaning, agriculture, berry picking etc.). Also discussed will be the trafficking of children and young people, who are exploited as pickpockets, in begging and in shoplifting, and human trafficking and sham marriages.
The seminar is aimed at Nordic and Baltic prosecutors, court systems and police. Participation will be by invitation only.
