Public service media confronts new media behaviour Finished

Contact info: Triin Oppi (triin.oppi@norden.ee)

Who needs public service media at a time when everyone can publish and become a journalist? File-sharing – good, bad or worse? Who will pay for content in the future? We will investigate crossovers between public service media and new media on 11 & 12 June 2009 at Kumu Art Museum in Estonia. We will also look at media developments and discuss other important issues.

Media experts and news and programme producers from Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Estonia will be choosing the topics. One of the highlights of the conference will be a workshop with Professor Roger Wallis, who testified on behalf of the accused Internet pirates during the scandalous Pirate Bay trial this spring in Sweden. We also hear how Ericsson deals with new media behaviour.

Take a look at some photos and videos from the conference here.
